Yes, she is allowed to do this as long as it wasn't abusive. She was the one in charge of you. She was the one who was responsible for your well being at that time. So she did what she thought was right to correct your behavior. Some people don't believe in spanking. If you real mother and father don't believe in spanking you might want to bring it up to them and have them talk to her about how to punish you correctly.

She has a right to punish you, yes. But paddle spanking on bare bottoms of a 14 and 16 year old is absolutly absurd and extreme. Sending you to your rooms should have been sufficient at your ages.
I would tell my mom and my dad about step-mom and devise a plan for future visits. I am one of those that believe a few swats on the bottom is ok to a certain age. 14 and 16 is a bit much. Good luck and if it happens again, I would consider telling an authority figure.

Yes she is allowed to do that. She's your legal guardian while your father is away. If you were bad and she felt you deserved to be spanked it's her choice. Nothing she did would be considered abuse. There's a saying you're never too old for a spanking. Although, at 14 and 16 you two are a little old for spankings, but maybe she felt like she had no other choice with the two of you. Maybe you should go and apologize to her for fighting with your sister. If I were in her situation I wouldn't necessarily have spanked you two I would have found another way of punishing you, but then again maybe you guys deserved it.

I do not feel that anyone other than the parents have the right to physically discipline a child, and especially on the bare bottom. As your stepmother, I think she should find better ways of disciplining you and your sister and if she feels you guys need to be spanked, she should take that up with your mom and/or dad.

Well, I think that was an inappropriate punishment, especially since you are teenagers and she is not your biological mother. It's especially inappropriate to have done it to your bare bottoms, and might even be considered a kind of emotional abuse. Whether she's allowed to do it? Probably, the US doesn't consider even fairly severe corporal punishment abuse with out pretty bad injuries, but you should definitely talk to your parents about it. Quite frankly, your stepmom was out of line. She might not have broken any laws but she went beyond discipline in my opinion and should be called on it.

She is your stepmom so she technically is a parent. Did she abuse you? Like hit you many many times or was it two hits with the paddle? If you feel uncomfortable then call your mom or tel your dad you don't want to come over when he is out on business.

I guess it depends on how hard she paddled you. Could you walk afterwards? Did she draw blood?
Maybe you should just behave. A proper spanking has far more to do with humiliation than actual abuse. Yer step-mum is a ***** fer spankin ya, but I bet ya deserved it, unless she actually caused physical damage.
As for whether she's allowed to do it -- depends on many factors. You can try calling social services on her, but I doubt anything will happen unless you can show your bottom to a doctor and demonstrate she did more than piss you off and make your tushy red.

if they are married yes she can discipline you if she is in charge and there is no body else there yes she can discipline you!! it all depends on how it really went down?? a few spanks on your bare behind is nothing!! but if she was hitting you and beating you down then there is fine line between abuse!! but think if you did get the "police involved" that would ruin your dads marriage, think about how he would feel!! then think about how he would treat you because you was acting up and she stepped in to stop what was going on and every thing so there is more to it then can she do this!!

Take it up with your dad. You have a right to know what discipline methods are approved between them. However, she is not your biological mother, therefor your real mother has more say in that than she does.
Incidently, it's not really appropriate to use physical punishment against teens. There's no point. It's not child abuse, but it's useless.
