There are different kinds and levels of love, plus infatuation, obsession and lust which don't qualify as real love. Real love for a partner does require a certain amount of maturity, and working through the various stages of a romantic relationship takes time. Most people have several different kinds of relationships before discovering what long-lasting love is, and some never do find out. I think when you find a real love you will know it, because it will progress from lust, to romantic attachment, to true commitment that lasts a life time. To get to that stage may take years, and for some people relationships just don't last long enough to get to that stage.
