Honestly, anywhere whereas you have family or friends around you. If that isn't the case....then you'll make PLENTY of friends at Times Squares and the bars after the ball drops!

Times Square, NYC, is truly a blast.
One year, I went up to the top of the Empire State Building (which closes at 11:30),, where you can look down on the crowds gathered below (in addition to the usual beautiful view). After that, I went down and joined the crowd, hanging around with some German girls. After that is a mass exodus; I went down to a favorite bar in the East Village.
