every year I hear the same thing , kids are not allowed to say Merry Christmas In Schools , adults cant use the saying , public places cannot display it ..the reason , because we may upset immigrants from other countries who now make the united states their home ..Only because they do not share our beliefs ..I am sorry for this inconvenience , but I am going to continue to say Merry Christmas to all i see , even immigrants , I dont do this because , I have no compassion to you , I do this because this is where I was born , where I live , and If I left to live somewhere else in the world , i would not expect you to change your beliefs for me ..So why would you want me to change mine for you ..Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

How about this: "Happy politically-correct neutral so that we are so careful not to offend the over-sensitive people Holidays but if you don't celebrate than just have a good day"???

The reason that the PC statement is now "happy holidays" has nothing to do with imigrants, and everything to do with religion.
Most immigrants to the US right now are from Mexico. Most of those individuals are Christian. While they may be more accustomed to "Feliz Navidad," they would in no way find it inappropriate to wish them a Merry Christmas.
Those who take offense are those who do not believe in the Christian faith. There are many individuals born in the US who are not Christian.
I am a Christian, and I do wish people a Merry Christmas. If someone were to stop or correct me I would politely say, "I'm sorry, I am celebrating the birth of Christ. I hope you enjoy whatever holidays you chose to celebrate this season."

Merry Christmas to you!! All this "happy holidays" nonsense is PC bullsh*t. Even if you say happy holidays to, say, a muslim, it's really pointless...they have no major holidays during this time of year. Eid is back in the spring or summer. They're just one example though. I've always said that it's the thought that counts. If a Jewish person wished me a Happy Hannukah, I'd reply with a friendly Merry Christmas! I don't celebrate hanukkah, but he does, and he's obviously happy and in good spirits, so why not, you know?

Who said so? A lawmakers? Who voted them onto office, you? Here in the Land of the FREE we have a document (the Constitution) that guarantees us "...Congress shall pass no law..." I say what I want when I want where I want. If I offend a foreigner he can GTFO of our country. Remain passive and your rights will be stomped into oblivion. I'm not a christian but will fight for your rights. I cannot hire a lawyer anymore because I exercised a right we have that is guaranteed by the constitution. Turn it around 180 degrees, people. The towel on your head, the this, the that, the other thing you do offends me/us. My apologies that I am 7 years late on this. And by the way-complain to the department of immigration and they will direct you to someone special. Someone who can terminate that yahoo's residency in the United states. GET BUSY people!

I think it is another case of PC going too far. I don't mind Happy Holidays myself, but merry x-mas (if you pronounce the x as "ex") is derogatory to the season. Every person's opinion is important. With so many people celebrating so many different holidays, I guess Merry Christmas could be taken as being biased towards Christian religions. To me, the spirit of the message is "Enjoy yourselves with your loved ones during this holiday season" However you want to say it. (But Merry x-mas doesn't say it)

good for you! i agree with everything that you are saying, and i am with you 100%. people from other countries should not come here and start dictating to us about our beliefs. ok, if they want to stick to their own beliefs, then thats fine, but they should keep out of ours! i dont think that i had better get started on this subject because it gets me very angry, and i would be here all day!! i am sure that there are many people out there who feel the same, but most of the time i feel like we have not got a voice. i will always stand by any traditios that we have always had here, and that includes "MERRY CHRISTMAS"!! so, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

Well, especially if you're working in a store -- I mean, they probably aren't buying Kwanzaa presents, or Ramaden presents! They are buying -- HELLO?! -- CHRISTMAS presents! OK, some of them are buying Hannakah presents, but folks are WAAY too sensitive these days if they get "offended" if someone wishes them a Merry Christmas. I celebrate Christmas, and, by God, I'M offended if I am not allowed to celebrate MY holiday by greeting people with joy and goodwill. So, there -- I'M now offended: Do I have more rights, now?
Merry Christmas to you, too!

Oh man, I SO agree with you! This stupid PC CRAP is just incredibly annoying!!
If *I* moved to Italy or Cambodia or Brazil... I wouldn't expect them to post signs in English just for me and to change their traditions just for me. Even if it was a RELIGIOUS thing, I'd respect their beliefs and not be offended!
The people who are offended by every little thing must have NO other problems in their little, petty lives...
