I'd like to transfer schools in New York, but I need to use a fake address to be get into the school I want. Can I use a friend's address, saying I'm going to move in with that family member? Will the school actually research to find out if I am related to him/her?

*To Zgsweb: No, just transfer high schools. I know lots of people get into their schools by using fake addresses.

If you apply for any financial aid, and fill out forms giving knowingly false information, then you could get in a LOT of trouble. These are usually government forms and you would be committing fraud. I suggest that you don't do it. What are you trying to do, get in-state tuition?

What if you just used a Post Office Box from that area as a mailing address? My friend did that.

dude ive been trying to do the exact same thing. my friend did it you need a friends address. say ur the co resider. get your parents bankstatement, creditcard bill mailed there so it shows proof of address. just say ur moving in with them. your parents got to be hella down for it cuz it is commiting fraud. let me know if it works
