Not a Nebraska fan but this caught my eye since we play them this week. I just want to say I agree with everything you said. I have grown up watching Michigan football, but I have always had one eye on Happy Valley, and for one reason: JoePa. I have always put him in the same league as Lombardi,. Holtz, and Wooden-coaches who were true champions in every sense of the word. While I think it was the right move to fire him, I still feel really bad for Paterno-the university needed a scapegoat, and Joe became that scapegoat. While he is not entirely innocent, he doesn't deserve all the blame. Too much attention is being focused on him, instead of on the victims, or on the worthless sack of dog crap that caused all this. I'm sure some people were pissed about 'public prayer,' but I felt like it was the perfect way to start the game. The healing process needs to start for everyone, and this was a good way to do it. The worst reaction now is for PSU to start forfeiting games/scholarships/etc...it's not fair to punish the players and the team for something that was completely beyond them. This has been a tough week for PSU, the Big 10, and all of college football. My prayers are with Joe, the entire PSU family, and most especially the victims and their families.

It is a very sad thing when One Refuses to forgive, Holds a grudge, and cannot forget a Wrong........
I understand this young fellow was impacted by many circumstances, damaging His ability to Forgive Or Trust. Only God knows what really took place in His Heart and Mind......But we Know all the people involved That escaped Death need our Prayers and God's Almighty Hand Placed on Them and their Sorrow tonight. We ask that God will strengthen them and Use In a Positive way The negative things they Have experienced and gone through...We ask these things in Jesus' Precious Name...Amen & amen

The sad truth is it's too late to pray for the victims. We can pray for their loved ones though, and others who think these acts are in any way an answer.

Pray for the families of the victims. Pray for the family of the shooter. Pray for the people who work at that mall and will be afraid to return to work.
The victims are where they will spend all of eternity. There is no praying for them that will have any effect whatsoever.

I couldn't help but notice that one of your responders, Isiah, made the comment, "He was an atheist." Not any more he isn't! I think what we should pray for is a sick society that has somehow managed to take the focus off respect for life, self, and others.
