That's a quote from our fellow R&S member, "Death from Above."

And after some of the stuff I've seen around here lately, I'm starting to think he's right. What say the rest of you?

It has been thus so since the time of Henry VIII. People have forgotten that Catholicism was outlawed in Britain until right up until the late 19th century. Catholics were discriminated against, killed and tortured by the protestant establishment. Priests had to hide in 'priest holes', monasteries were demolished, Catholic land and property was stolen, magnificent architecture and priceless art was deliberately destroyed etc. etc. Protestant thugs from Oliver Cromwell onwards went on the violent rampage in Ireland, killing and looting etc. (no wonder there has been unrest in that country ever since). The bigotry and discrimnation still exists in Britain's laws which continue to ban the Monarch from ever becoming or even marrying a Catholic. And would you credit that the people that committed these crimes against humanity claimed to be Bible believing, God fearing Christians? Just as their successors, the present day bigots claim.

I have felt that way for a very long time. That might be because i am from the USA where Protestants are the majority and much of the rest of the minority does not know how to differentiate between fundamentalists and the rest of Christianity. We seem to get caught in all crossfires whether we are guilty or not.

It isn't right to bash anyone of any faith, my brother and sister are Catholic and I am Jewish, we have no problems. My best friend is Catholic and Hindu (he is literally confirmed in both) and I think that is soo awesome!

You didn't really say what the basher said but I'm just giving my perspective.

You should see my question "Anti-Catholicism, the new Anti-Semitism." It does seem acceptable to make fun of Catholics. You can't pick on Jews, Muslims, or any other theist but is quite correct to pick on Catholics. Many will try to defend their attacks by saying " I hate Catholicism, not Catholics". Bull. Those people do not have the guts to say they hate us so they make up this excuse. At least the KK (anti-Catholic) is honest in saying they hate Catholics. If you hate a church, you hate the people that go worship in that church. Do not try and spin it. Many here bash Catholics out of ignorance, if they only pick up a book on Catholicism it would be different.

Everybody gets bashed here.

If I hit myself with a hammer for everytime I've been bashed, or a JW, LDS, Roman Catholic, Muslim, I'd have a pockmarked forehead.

Its true. You can't blast muslims, or jews or anyone else. But its ok to attack the Catholic Church. This is also a protestant disease. And it will effect the protestant churches also. When destroying the Catholic Church, the main Christian Church, all churches will suffer.

Catholics are good people, however the truth is, they teach apostasy. If they were to teach from the Bible, there would be no praying to Saints, or Mother Mary to pray to God for them, they would only go through Jesus. No one comes to Jesus unless the Father draws him, and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus. They would not kiss the hand or whatever of any statue of a Saint, Mother Mary, or even Jesus.
The statues are graven images, the second commandment of the law of God was taken out by the Roman Catholic Church and replaced with half of the tenth commandment so as to have ten commandments. This was done because the second commandment says, " Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image " .

The list goes on and on of things that are done in the Roman Catholic Church that are against the Holy Word of God.

Just do the research, and diligently study the Holy Scriptures, in fervent prayer.

God be with you,
William, a bond-servant of Jesus

Honestly, I thought the the last acceptable form of bigotry was on white males. Everyone else claims racism or bigotry, just try it if you are white, uptight and outta sight.

We can not even have our private clubs any longer like the Skull and Bones society, and we may have to allow women in there as well. What is this world coming to?

Ah, what do I care? They did not invite me to join anyway.
