I want to respond so badly to all these!! its funny!! Most people believe this?? Its not a fact... We love black people as much as whites.. and women are given just different responsibilities. We are all gods children, and so satan doesn't have to be good to be related to J. Christ. keep answering though :)

We are allowed to drink caffeine believe it or not. We are all children of god, and we don't believe that you go to hell if your not mormon. Everyone, no matter what religion is a child of God.

I think they have some beliefs that are very different from what I believe. But I admire that they are required to spend some time out in the ministry - which is not a part of the worship of most faiths. I also have a great respect for their family values.

Grew up with a few, have had close friends as an adult. But when you get into it ,it is so bizarre ,I have to think most Mormons don't know on what their church was founded.
1) They believe black skin is a curse for all the souls that stayed neutral in a war between Jesus and Lucifer.
2)Blacks could not be an elder or deacon in the "priesthood" until the 1980s.
3) There are many "gods" that rule over different planets, and Adam became the God of Earth.
4) "As man is ,God once was,As God is man can become".
5) Do all the LDS rituals correct and you may end up with your own planet to be god over.
6) If your wife divorces you ,you can keep her out of heaven.
There are so many more it is ridiculous.
Good people ? YES,bad religion? YES.

Jerry,
You need to quit buying in to the "just given different responsibilities" crap and look at what you are actually saying...
"just given?" You can't even argue that women get a fair shake in the church without letting the church's latent discrimination come through. Perhaps you meant, "they have different responsibilities," or "they choose" but what you said implies that the men are in charge and the women do what they are told.
I grew up in the church and was a temple recommend holding member for 35 years. I went through pre-1990 when women were instructed to promise to obey their husbands and the men promised to obey God. The church is changing to be less oppresive of women but they are about 30 years behind the rest of society and for members to claim otherwise is disingenuous.
Also, even though mormons don't practice polygamy now, they still believe that it will be the practice in heaven. You can't tell me you haven't heard at some point that there will be many more women than men to make it to the Celestial Kingdom and that they'll be given (they don't choose do they?) to a righteous Priesthood holder.
Don't come on here and make it seem like all the things the church's critics bring up are outright lies...especially when you know otherwise.

The Mormon people are very good people. If going on how nice and helpful they are, they would get my vote. However, there is one very large problem; They do not believe in the Deity of Jesus the Messiah. This is the very definition of Antichrist, so when I think of or see a Mormon, I think, Antichrist.
Now this does not mean I dislike them, it simply means they are not children of God. My job is to pray for any that I meet.
God be with you,
William, a bond-servant of Jesus

They believe we are based on false principles. At the same time we LDS members know that other churches are missing things. From this same aspect Muslims believe they are right and that all Christan's are wrong. As you can see it's a pattern so it does not matter what people think about LDS members. The church will eventually be the largest Christian church in the US but even then it won't matter what people think of us then. People believe what they want to believe. I just tend to believe that what I believe in comes from the Spirit of God not just the teachings of a church.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Book of Mormon is trying to add to the bible.
And i don't think we become as gods. Or that we go and live on other planets.
Jesus said Mark 13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.
All things in the prophets and in the patriarchs. In old testament and new. We don't need any modern day Saints.

Well, you see, the problem is that it was founded as a cult by a charismatic guy, Joe Smith, who wanted to get laid by 20+ gullible women. The Mormons are misguided at best.
Link goes to a list of 20+ gullible women.

Can't speak for others, but I think their beliefs are bordering on the lunatic.
It's amazing how sane, decent, normal people are prepared to leave their common sense at the church door.
I'm sure many Mormons ARE sane, decent, normal people - but they certainly believe some pretty mad (& bad) stuff.
I can't see him attracting a lot of black votes - just read the Mormon stance on "negroes",
I personally would not want somebody that gullible and naive leading the free world.
(Do you think he would like Tom Cruise as VP?)

I've been friends with mormons all of my life. Frankly, their behavior is not someone who seems to follow what is taught in the mormon church. Just regular people to me.
However, if I look at the religion and not the people, its no more wierd than the others.

They're neither more nor less wrong than followers of any other religion. Whatever the details may be, Romney today said
"“I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of mankind”
If you're going to make wildly inaccurate statements like that, does it really matter where you stand on some minute doctrinal detail?
Are they good or evil? Just like all other religions and non-religious folks, there's a wide range. Judge on a case-by-case basis, not by one's religion.
