Unless you are violently ill, you just deal. Try to rest as much as possible. More than likely the baby has already been exposed to the illness and will get sick anyway. It's better to keep the baby home, then to spread the illness further.

Wash your hands as much as possible, but the baby will probably get it anyway. Illnesses usually make the full rounds when you have little ones.
I don't think many sitters would want to knowingly expose themselves to the flu.

Are their grandparents or friends that can watch the baby for a couple of days? When I had the flu I was lucky because my mother in law lived next door and watched our son while hubby was at work.
The woman that said rest when you can, your child comes first. It's kind of hard to take care of a baby when you are barfing and having diarrhea! Best to get a family member (Hopefully someone that has had a flu shot) to watch baby for a couple of days.

a 19 month old is building his immunities and until most children are older will catch colds; they don't have the immunity yet to fight them off; any stuffed animal will comfort him and sometimes you just feel plain miserable when sick; there is the vapor plug in now which emit the menthol to assist with breathing and a humidifier to put moisture in the air ; lavender oil can be used to scent the room but I would not use it near the child via a stuffed animal. I doubt that lavender would ease my cold symptoms when I am sick. Hope he feels better.

If the child was going to get sick they will anyhow. They would have gotten sick the same time as the parents or within a few days. Just from being anywhere int eh same house.

Get better asap. And have the kids go to the sitters house, not the sitter goes there.
