Red but not bloody, she had round worms a month ago but shes taken all her meds for it. She is spayed, shes also been coughing latley. Her stomach is also making a sound that kinda sounds like a growling, like when a person is hungry. I just changed her food cause her other food was giving her gas.

Maybe it is the new food? Is it red in color? If it is red, that is what is making her poops red. The coughing could be a cold that cats get URI, upper respiratory infection. If you start to see discharge coming from her eyes or nose, it's time to get her checked out. URI can be very life threatening to any cat if left unattended. The growling tummy sounds like it could be gas? If you changed her food once because of gas, you might want to try yet another brand. It would be a good idea too to contact her veterinarian if you are in doubt. They could advise you best on what is wrong with kitty as they have her history available.

I wold go with calling the vet, only I wouldn't wait. I have no idea whatsoever what it is, and apparently you don't either. I mean, it could be a dietary shift. Some cats are sensitive to that. Perhaps there are some dyes in her food. Maybe she did get into something. It's kind of an off-the-charts thing to me, as apparently it is to you as well. And that's the best reason in the world to call the vet and ask him. You might also want to scoop one of these poops into a baggie and see if he would like you to drop it by his office. But if her tummy is making a sound you can hear without putting your ear right against her and she has been coughing, he might actually want to see her. Call him.

Did she get into something red that you didn't give her?
Did you change from one cheap mostly corn and artificial colors food, to another?
Or is she on Iams, Nutro, something with the first word on the list of ingredients, chicken? I've had luck with Purina One chicken and rice, the one with yogurt.
Keep an eye on this, could turn into an emergency. In fact, call the vets office, they will advise you over the phone what to look for.

What new food are you feeding her? One of the animal care workers at our local humane society mentioned the other day that a certain popular brand of cat food contains additives that make the feces red - I cannot remember if it was Friskies or Whiskas. One of the two.

Sounds to me like she needs to see her vet ASAP. Healthy cats don't get gas.....that's usually caused by an intestinal parasite or infection. It could be upper intestine OR lower intestine, but it can become very serious VERY QUICKLY in a young cat. If you love her, get her an appointment ASAP, and have her checked out! Hope this helps.....Good luck..........
