My bf parents came to visit him, but he never asked me over for an introduction. I am I being paranoid?

They won't be visiting for another 2 years. We have been friends for over 10 years, but our bf/gf relationship is a few months old.

Since you've been bf/gf for only 2 months, it's a little too early to meet the parents. Introduced my wife (then gf) to my parents when we started dating and she told me later that she almost freaked out. She's an immigrant from Asia and in her culture, you don't meet the parents until your engaged or ready to be engaged.

Not sure if you are in the same situation but sort of sounds like it. If your still together after 2 years, maybe that will be a good time to meet the parents.

Not enough information to make a good suggestion. If the parents know you exist then they would have asked him where you were. Since he did not ask you over to meet them--then he never has mentioned you to them over the past ten years. Your age is also an important factor. I'm going to assume your in your late 20ies and if that is true--I would start looking at who is available that would enjoy your company because this relationship is going nowhere--unless you know something I don't. Again not possible to give you a solid answer--only you can make that judgment call. good luck

Your bf/gf relationship is a little new for him to be thinking of introducing you to his parents, so don't worry about it. If you'd been together 2 or 3 YEARS, or were engaged, then I'd say yes it's weird that he didn't have you meet them.

Well, I would definitly be asking why not as well. Have you asked him? I think you should. The only reason I can think of (which if this was the reason, he probably should have told you,) is that he really wanted to just savor the time he had with his parents since he doesn't get to see them that much. He wanted time with JUST them because he hasn't got it much you know. Other than that, I'm not too sure.

Your b/f was being a bit insensitive. If I was you, I would have walked over to them, stuck my hand out, & introduced yourself to his mother, then his father. That would have showed your b/f that he ignored you. Meeting the parents is very important for a woman especially. Let your b/f know how it made you feel not being introduced. I'm wondering why his parents didn't make the first move?

I think you should ask him why you weren't introduced. If he was proud of you as his gf, then he should have introduced you unless he had a good reason not to. For example, they may have some personal issues to discuss with him (like their will) and he didn't want you to find out about (after all, their will isn't your business). I don't think you should make an issue of it though.

I doubt you are being paranoid. There might be another issue at hand that you are not aware of. His parents might have issues that cause them to fight or something and he doesn't want you to be involved yet.

the relationship is too new for him to probably consider that kind of formal introduction. Perhaps he's not sure where the relationship is going.... or will go.

don't get paranoid, if he doesn't see his parents very often then he probably just wanted to spend time with them and not worry about having to entertain you to. youll just have to stay with him for 2 more years to meet his parents.

That's not a good sign. But, maybe he has his reasons. I'd have to talk to him about this and just how serious is the relationship to him.
