I guess it's a matter of preference. I iron, pin, sew. Why? Because ironing holds the hem in place and makes it easier to pin and sew.

Go to a Office Max or Office Depot (Stores like that) and get the iron on picture maker. It's about $20 or less and it has simple instructions. You would need to enlarge the photo if it isn't already and copy it to the special paper and the iron it on.
