I would not think so

I don't recall any promises of an easy life on Earth

I would suppose that it would depend upon the "mission" that God sends you on, don't you think?

I am very surprised by the posters who mention that life is suppose to be "easier" for the Christian, and quote Joel Osteen, TD Jakes and similar preachers who espouse that faith is an ATTITUDE and that God intended us to have the GOOD LIFE if we keep a proper positive mind-set.

What a powerfully disjointed, misinformed message that is!!!!

What do you say about the massive genocide occurring RIGHT NOW in Africa and other countries where Christians are being slaughtered by the ruling Islamic and other government run entities??? Is that what Osteen and Jakes are preaching about? Are they aware that God's children are being murdered for following His Son in life and spirit?

So, should life be easier for a Christian? The focus of the Christian is not of this world. The focus is on God, and what He expects of us. And if we meet with a harsh world, it is not a surprise, as we have been forewarned of the world's ways. If life were too easy, then the Christian could become complacent, leaving God behind, becoming self-centered and ignorant. This is not an option.

If you are a Born-again child of God, You will Peace in your Heart always.....It was never there before. It is a Peace that passeth all Understanding. There is an empty Place in every Heart, until we find the Lord. Once we invite Him in, He will cleanse us from our sins., and give us a New Life. We may Still walk down some Rocky roads, or Face some Issues that aren't very good, But we Have the Lord Jesus walking beside us Holding our Hand. He gives us grace and strength to face anything, and come thru it like shining armour...Yes, Life is much easier when YOU are a Christian....We stand On His Promises.! Amen.

No, Christians still have all the difficult situations other people run into, but I find them a lot easier to handle as a Christian. It's good to know that even the worst situation is in God's hands, and comforting to know that I have a chance at seeing my deceased relatives in heaven. There are some ways Christian life may be less complicated (for example, less chance of STD's if you're only sleeping with your husband/wife), but the real difference is that when we have the problems that come up in everyone's life, we know that God will be protecting and guiding us, and that he can see the good outcome even when we can't.

As the saying goes "Life is Hard" they never said that life would be easy, however whether your a Christian or some other denomination Life can be hard sometimes. I wish that my Christianity did make life easier but in reality it doesn't in fact, its a daily challenge. There are so many challenges in life we have to deal with. So When Life gives you Lemons then make Lemonade. In Life you have to take the good with the Bad.

No, life shouldn't be easier because we are a Christian. Why should it be? We were not promised that hardships would not come to us just because we believed in Christ and our Heavenly Father. We were promised however that He would be with us no matter what we had to go through and that is a blessing and a gift right there.
We are ALL God's children and it's up to each one of us if we choose to live for Christ and the way He taught us to love one another but to me being Christian doesn't give me a special privilege to have no pain or hard times come to me. My gift will be when my life is finished here on earth and that's what gets me by during my difficulties. Thanks be to God.

sometimes....we think I am a christian this should be a breeze. Some things are with the grace of God. He helps us. I believe the reason why some things aren't easy is because it builds character in us and teaches us we are not alone to do things our own. We have a helper. I believe there is a lesson in everything. If things were always so easy for us we wouldn't need Jesus. Some things are easier though, because we can have God's favor. He blesses us. Some things He lets us learn for ourselves.

Yes it is easier becuase we have God , Jesus and the Holy Spirit to get us thru everything in this world. So much wickedness, and we are protected by GOd.
GOd never promises us a rose garden, with no thorns. Oh no, we go thru trials and tribulation like the rest of the non believers, usually because of the stuff brought to us that rebel against God.
But the huge neat really awesome thing is this:
Jesus shows us how to pull the thorns from the garden, and becuse of HIm, all things are possible when we truly love and obey Him, doing His will , not our own, and then we are truly abiding in Christ. Ps 91, tells us of the benefits of a life abiding in Christ.
I pray ppl will read this and KNOW what all God can do for them, if you are in Christ.
Awesome. Am I passionate for Jesus? OH yes.
Celebrate Jesus Celebrate Him, and on your celebration of Jesus b/day, make it ONLY about HIM>
God bless you for the great question.

Absolutely!!! God is always there for his TRUE children. As a child of God, you have an advocate. You can talk to him anytime about anything and he will respond. You will have problems because the Bible says that trials and tribulations must come but, even in those, you can pray for mercy. If a Christians life is not, at least, a little easier its b/c either they are not living like the Bible says or they are being tested or prepared. "To whom much is given much in required."-Can't think of the scripture right now"

One of the points that Christianity makes that few people think about is that life is not easy because you are a believer. Life is actually somewhat harder, because you're fighting against a current of apathy and non-belief. What Christianity can do is give you the knowledge that your struggle is worthwhile, that God knows and has experienced through Christ real pain and suffering and loves you through every hardship and shadow you go through including your own failings, You are not alone, or forgotten, or abandoned. That can give you the strength and the freedom to not only carry on, but to love and care and forgive.

God doesn't promise to take away all our troubles but he does promise he will not leave us alone with them and he doesn't. It is hard to understand why bad things are being allowed to happen to us but I can almost always look back and see where God turned that bad into something great maybe a lesson I truly needed came from it or it opened a door for something greater than I even imagined. It is hard when things don't seem to be going right but be faithful in prayer and know that `he has a plan and better times are just ahead.
