Yes, if you are relying on yourself to change, you will probably stay the same. However, things DO change when we put our trust in the Lord! Remember ALL things are possible with God. God will take out things in our personality that are not of Him. He will replace them with qualities that are Godly and wonderful. He will put a desire in your heart to change for the good and will give you the ability to do so. It must start with a sincere desire to change. Like my daddy used to say, "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!" The Lord is in the business of forgiving BIG sins, because He is a BIG God! We have ALL sinned and fallen short! I should know, I was a BIG sinner who has sinned against my God. My sins were many! But God lovingly forgave me! I could plead the blood of Christ over them! Our God is an awesome God! He WANTS to forgive us! The Bible says that He will give us the victory over sin and over the flesh. He will enable you in your battle with the flesh. He can deliver you from sin!
If you are sincere about changing, you first start with admitting you are a sinner, who has sinned against God and you are in need of the atonement sacrifice Jesus made for you at Calvary. Confess your sins to God and ask for forgiveness in Jesus' name. Ask the Lord to come and live in your heart. Many people who formerly have done everything including murder, have turned their lives over to the Lord. He knows our hearts and can not only forgive you, but can make REAL changes in your heart, your desires, your mind, your spirit. He does a total remake on us. This is called being "born again".
We can do all things through Christ. You are in my prayers!

The only point of being 'to evil' would be when one doesn't even think of it anymore. God wants everyone to come to repentance. Unlike us, God loves everyone, including those we think are unlovable. He loves the person who murders although He hates murder. He loves the person who rapes, although He hates rape. He loves the person how curses Him, although He hates being cursed. He loves the person who lies and cheats, although He hates lying and cheating.
Repenting is not easy work mind you, I go through that one too even now. In the moments when I have repented and sought forgiveness, I found that healing the relationship takes time and more than just the words. In addition to their forgiving me, the healing of the relationship may take my acting in service to the needs of the one that I have wronged. Sometimes that service has been very specific, like caring for anothers needs. However, sometimes it has been service conducted in quiet and secret. The service, done in this way, gently heals my heart and restores my love towards the ones I have wronged.
But too evil for repentance ... Nah ... If it can be concieved it can be done!

As long as there is life, there is hope. No one is beyond redemption.
The thief on the cross, who most probably lived a very evil life of robbery, murder etc, when he acknowledge his sin in repentance, was immediately promised Paradise.
Jesus wanted the Pharisees to be saved as well. We know that Nicodemus a pharisee got saved. John 3
Good luck!

Jesus loves you. He is willing and able to forgive you of all your sins and to give you a new life free from evil in His Son the Lord Jesus Christ.
A lot of you evil thoughts and actions come from your unforgiveness towards those who have done you wrong. God has probably given you over to an evil heart because you have denounced Him. (application of Romans 1:28-32) However, God can and will set you free from an evil heart, and heal you if you will receive His Son Jesus, who died for your sins and rose from the dead, as your Savior and Lord.
Turn to God in prayer. From your heart, confess your sins to God and ask Him to forgive you. Ask Jesus to come live in your heart and be the Lord of your life. Thank Him for saving you.
If you do this, then God will literally change your life. His Word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
You will not be the same person. He will change your life. He will give you a new nature. As you live your life in obedience to God, He will cause you to become more and more like Jesus. He will replace your evil thoughts and actions with godly thoughts and actions. You will have the power to forgive people and love them the way Jesus wants you to (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 defines what love is). I most assure you, your life will not be the same.
It is important that you publically admit that you have surrendered your life to the Lord. Tell your Church during invitation time what you have done, and tell people (your family, friend, etc) that you have received Jesus as your Savior and Lord. (Matthew 10:32)
It is also important that you be water baptized. (Mark 16:16) It is an act of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is another public profession of your faith. It is a symbol of you having died to the sins in your life and are now walking in newness of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:3-11)
You will need help in your walk with God. Ask your Pastor to pray for you. Ask God to send godly people your way that can pray for you and that can help you know how to live the Christian life.
megan!, Jesus loves you. Trust God and receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

It is as the other two said.
I myself, can testify that there is no such thing as being too evil too repent.
Have you read the story of Saul, whose name changed to Paul? He was a sinner and blasphemed against God, and done all sorts of things, but he chaged his life when he was called to be an apostle. If I remember right, I think Saul was first spoken about in the books of Acts.
Think about those who are in prison. There are lots of people in prison who turn their lives over to God.
No one, in God's eyes are too evil to repent and change their ways to live for Him righteously. He longs for ALL his children to repent, put everything in His hands, and for them to let Him direct their lives instead of people directing their own. He longs for us to have a close, real, personal relationship. He has not forsaken us, but a lot of people have forsaken Him. God is not going to give up on anyone as long as we shall live in our mortal bodies. He is not even going to give up on Bin Laden and Sadam Hussein. God is still waiting and wanting them to have a relationship with Him. His unconditional love for us is sooooo deep, it's even deeper than what mothers have for their children. You know how mothers love their kids no matter what? It's like that with God, but it's far magnified.
Some ways to help you to get on path for a better life is like the other two posters mentioned (the first two), but also make a habit of reading the Bible everyday. Try and at least read three chapters, if not more, every day. There's a saying if you read the Bible every day, you'll come to hate sin. I can testify to that! You still love the person who commits the sin, however. You also may find yourself ending some friendships so as to not get in the way of making a better, stronger spiritual life for yourself. You may also need to dramatically change your life to stay away from situations that will make you sin. If you want, you can email me about your struggles so I can further help you.
As long as you live, it's not too late. But you may want to turn your life over to God tonight because you never know when you'll die. And when you die, it's too late! ALL sins are forgiveable, as long as you forgive others sincerely, meaning you truly are no longer angry with someone and you no longer feel hatred for someone. The only one that is NOT forgiveable and that is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.
((((((HUGS & HOLY KISSES))))))).
Peace be with you! †

That leaves 28 % GOOD ! I believe if you are concerned, which you sound like, then it isn't too late to accept Jesus as Lord, and repent. If you will allow Him, He will change you.

No one is too evil for repentance unless you've already died.
