I have a 5, 3 and 1-year-old. They all seem to sleep pretty well. I keep our house around 64-66 at night - depending.

I'm simply asking a question as to what others do. Is it wrong to seek information? This is ANSWERS, isn't it?

didn't know that would be controversial huh? I keep the house at 68 and they all wear pajamas, I have a baby sack for the youngest and the other 2 have the blanket pajamas. They usually migrate to my bed around 3 or so in the a.m and that is how I keep warm while my husband is gone(in Iraq)

Do you mean like if you don't have central heating?

You could get space heaters, but make sure you turn them off in the morning. They can be potentially hazardous if left on for too long. Also, don't keep it too close to anything it could catch fire on. Put extra blankets on their beds. Have them wear socks to bed, it'll keep in more of their body heat. Make sure they're wearing long pajama pants and a long sleeved shirt and/or sweatshirt to bed. For any door that leads to the outside, cover the space between the ground and the door because that lets in a draft.

I hope this helps! Oh, and if it really is still that cold, hats & gloves to bed to keep in body heat.

plenty of blankets!!! get a ton......dont get heated blankets they can catch on fire unless meant to be used the whole night or guaranteed kid-safe. Get them flannel Pajamas, and make them wear some cute booties (the socks lol) or get them a one piece pajama so that it covers their feet! SOme kids hate those though so thats why i recommend the flannel two pieces with socks. if heat does not reach their rooms very well, get them their own heater but make sure you place it somwhere where they cannot get hurt with it. If they are still cold, get them a scarf and hat and mittens lol.

Ensure that there is enough heating, that they are not hungry and that they have a thickish duvet approapriate for the weather. If you do not have a duvet, use several blankets.

But you must be careful that they do not get too hot.

One of the main courses of cot death is because babies over-heat as the mothers want to keep them warm.

Carter's fleece with the feet in pjs. Make sure you put a onesie undershirt and socks on underneath. Turn on the central heat, but make sure not too high or else they will bake.

i'm assuming you ask because of the warning against putting babies down with blankets and such in the crib, cause of the risk of sids....

if you put them on a thin/regular sleeper and one of the wearable blankets, they should be warm enouph...babies tend to be slightly warmer than adults anyway...so don't over-worry on this one...also, be sure that the crib isn't near a window or drafty door-way....

i also turn my heat down at night...and i don't like to have too many blankets...so i dress baby warm and always put on socks!
