The answer is no. The heat will drain energy away from you and the heat will losen you up, but without the same amount of heat your body will tighten back up and possibly cramp when you are running. I would avoid it the day before and not till sometime after the race.

Frankly, I don't know. But let's just think about it for a moment. A hot tub I guess is hotter than body temp. That leads me to believe you're gonna do some sweating in the hot tub. I guess I tend to believe you're gonna lose hydration there. And dehydration ain't something you really want to happen during a track meet.

Although I also believe the hot tub will loosen you up and tend to make you more flexible. As an alternative, I'd say just take a short hot shower followed immediately by a cooler shower the morning of......

That is not a very good idea.
The hot water, depending on the temperature and duration can make you tired and sluggish.

I've always heard that the high temps can drain you, make you feel sluggish.
