I call myself a "NO" and not a christian, however I will answer.

To me faith is as defined in the on line dictionary as A NOUN which means A: Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief, trust.
Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters.
often Faith Christianity The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will.
The body of dogma of a religion: the Muslim faith.
A set of principles or beliefs.

In my simple words it is what I believe in based upon the truth as I see it.

Faith is trust, believing the Word of God without seeing Him, or having seen any proof.

Faith is to believe without proof of existance.

I am not church going person, yet I know what I have seen,
some people believe in ghosts but not God.

I can tell you that when my grandfather died I saw him holding hand with his late wife (my grandma) at the foot of my bed at the moment he died and other events. No one believes me.

What I can tell you is if you have a trully open mind and of heart , you will see.

Let me leave you with 1 thought, how come there are so many reports of sighting of ghosts

faith without the works of grace is ineffective. faith and doing the will are one! Thank the daddy in each little thing, regardless of the situations may well be, for that's the will of the daddy for you who're in Christ Jesus, who's the revealor and mediator of which will. If one would not thank the daddy throughout the situations then grace would not artwork! entire deliverance is achieved by ability of grace via faith!

To me faith is the same as saying I believe, without having to see touch or feel something. I cant touch the sky, but I know it's there. I cant see the wind, but I know that's there too. I know God is there whenever I look at the mountains and watch the waves on the ocean.

Never heard of the 'leap of faith'?
I saw this movie .This kid was explaining sattle light signals to a bushman. The bushman started laughing , a loud hearty laugh.
Sattle light signals, t.v. ,little people in a box ....
Sounds silly when you think about it from that perspective.
"Faith, the substance of things hoped for
The evidence of things unseen."
Hebrews 11:1

To me the definition of faith is, and what it means to me is......It is knowing with out seeing. It is believing with all your whole heart. It is trusting in God. Surrendering, to him, to his will, his word, his love. it is believing, that Jesus died on the cross, so that we may have everlasting life. (John 3:16). It is believing that we are all sinners and forgiven of are sins rightously, when we go before God and ask for forgiveness.
