Those last few weeks are the worst. I remember lying in bed at night, unable to sleep of course, trying to will him to come out. Obviously it didn't work.
I know it's a lot easier said than done, but try to rest while you can. Enjoy some holiday shopping. Ride the escalator...once you have a stroller, then a toddler's hand to hold, you won't be taking the escalator for a long time. Do something "frivolous" with your time...like getting a pedicure.
If all else fails, write your baby a letter about how excited you are and how you can't wait to meet him or her.

There really is nothing you can do except wait and try to distract yourself. The baby will come when the baby is ready.

I was angry at the world the last few weeks of my pregnancy - about 38 weeks on (I was induced at 41 weeks). I was soooo done with sharing my body and waiting to hold my baby and I was angry that the whole thing wasn't hurrying up for my sake. Drat!

Try to focus on enjoying these last few weeks though because once they're gone, you don't get them back. I remember also feeling sad that I wasn't a special pregnant lady anymore once the baby was born.

I once read that swallowing sperm is far more effective than absorbing it through the usual method. It didn't work for me, but men love that idea!
Hang in there, enjoy the peace and quiet before your little one emerges. No doubt your waters would break if you were out Christmas shopping with loads of people about to watch!
I had one daughter on 18th Dec, and my next on Christmas day the following year. It's such a great time of year to have a baby. Good luck!
P.s pineapple is also supposed to help.

Spend your time reading all the other posts on exactly the same subject.
Wait, relax and conserve your energy. You will need it.
Sleep lots - its the last you'll get for a while.
Start thinking about the baby as real person with wants and needs.
Put those needs first and get used to it.
If the baby needs more time to develop then it won't (and shouldn't) be hurried... refer to the above.
Stop behaving like a self centred brat and grow up

If it's you first it could be four weeks yet!! My wife hated this period of the pregnancy too and went to 42 weeks with both of our children and every time my office phone rang after 36 weeks I thought "this is it!". Just try to relax be patient and I guarantee it will all be worth it. Good luck.

Get a massage. It's one of those things some people say you shouldn't do during pregnancy it will instigate labor. However, you seem to be at the point where that might be a good thing.

this worked for a friend of mine. don't have sex for a few days so the next time your partner ejaculates it'll be the good strong stuff, this helps soften the cervix, just make sure you have a few orgasms after he's c*m because this helps as well. a day after doing this my friend went into labour. there's no harm in trying lol

good luck x
