Does it really matter what we think is a good size? You are the one who will be wearing it for your whole life - make sure that you think its the right one. Thats all that really counts, not our opinion.

It's really up to you to decide.
Personally i have quite small and thin fingers and my engagement ring is a .25 solitaire yes that's not a typo my solitaire is 1/4 carat. Yes i know to a lot of women here that seems tiny but anything over 1/2 a carot makes my fingers look even smaller/slimmer than they are. It sparkles beautifully, the cut and clarity are exquisite, and people do admire it when they see it on my hand. Compared to my hand people think it's bigger than it is and i usually have to take my ring off to prove otherwise. My ring finger is the size of the pinky finger of nearly everyone who has asked! For some my ring has even been too small to fit the pinky properly!
I'm not a really young bride, i'm 26, but i just have slender fingers.
I think a diamond is beautiful in any size, it's just important to find the right size for you

I personally think that different sized rings look better on different types of people.. its about your happiness! Your ring sounds gorgeous at that size! In some cultures diamonds aren't even of importance when it comes to weddings and rings.
Good luck!

With some thing size is important. With diamonds and any stone for that matter, only one thing really counts: quality.
Always select quality first.

My center stone is 3/4 carat and its the perfect size for me and my finger. Have you tried on this sized stone to see how it looks on your finger first? Also be sure to experiment with cuts, certain cuts are better on certian types of fingers (ie Emerald cuts look best on long slender fingers, solitares look best on short or chubby fingers)
Good luck!

I think anything above .4 carats is an OK size. larger than .4 carats that nothing bad ever crosses my mind. but if it's smaller i get the "ehhh" feeling when looking at a solitaire that size.
just make sure it sparkles!!!

For me, that would be too big. My husband knew my fingers were delicate, so chose accordingly.
See pics under your other question for some ideas.
Just be happy with whatever he chooses for you!
