Assume both are of the same age which sex is more likely to be able to go without sex for an extended period of time ~ like two years?

Really depends on the person. After my divorce I wasn't with anyone until my current husband. Over two years. But when he and I first had sex, I was out of my mind horny for him. I found that the longer I went, the less interested I was in it. Some people go their whole lives without it. But I'd have to say women can go longer as a general rule.

Women definitely. Men are completely ruled by sex and the human body, it is a part of their makeup. Women on the other hand are more into the emotional connection that making love brings, are should bring with it. And then for some women, there are the religious aspects that may be involved as well. I've been first separated, and then divorced from my husband since April of 2005, and though I have had many offers, I have by my own choice abstained from any kind of physical release or sexual gratification. Do I miss it? Most definitely!

Almost always a woman in most cases.
I think girls are closer to other women and able to distract themselves better than men are with other things and their friends. And if they're the same age, girls are more mature by default.
Besides, don't guys think about sex every seven seconds or something?

You say they're both the same age, so it would depend on the age they are - younger women can go longer without it, and older men can go longer without it, at least in my experience

I had a girlfriend that couldn't go a day without it or without masturbating. And I have gone over 3 years before.
I don't think there is one gender that is defined by this. it is each individual.

I'd answer - easily it is women.
Some women are amazing in this regard. But, of course this is a generalization. There are also women who need sex more regularly.

Men want it more, so women own it.
We can all do without it, but because of a higher risk factor, women tend to be more selective, and thus more likely to do without.

I think men. They are less likely to cheat. A poll I read: Women 40% and men 32% likely to cheat.
