having difficulty hearing vocals on TV but not much room for speakers in front of tv. Wireless speakers a pref

Unless you don't care much about the sound quality, avoid wireless speakers. They're kind of expensive and they usually sound pretty poor. The high cost is because of the wireless circuitry, but the amps and speakers themselves aren't very good. Plus, unless you get the kind that plugs into the wall, they're battery operated and you'll be constantly changing out the batteries.

I think the best small, full-range speakers are Klipsch Quintet satellite speakers. You can probably pick up a used pair for under $100 on eBay. They're part of the Quintet series, which is 4 satellite speakers and a center channel that usually sells for $300 for a set. And, while they're designed to be used with a subwoofer, they still put out a fair amount of bass (down to about 120 Hz). They're about 6 inches high and 4 inches wide. They come with little stands to where you can set them on a table or shelf, but they can be mounted to speaker stands and placed anywhere near the TV.
