call rent-a-center some stores rent metal detectors that's about the only way I know how to find your digital camera

One more stellar reason why using a wrist strap or neck strap keeps cameras from being dropped.
Even if you find it, its probably going to need repairs - which will cost more than a new camera.
You may as well begin shopping for its replacement.

roll around in the snow untill you feel something hard poke you. or just wait untill all the snow is melted,

I bet the camera is done for now if it got wet.... depending on what kind of camera it is...If it is waterproof you will be alright but, if it is not waterproof then you might have problems.
