Yes, it's a secular moral philosophy that doesn't require deities or superstition.

Some people like to demonize humanism because they think morality and their gods are inseparable.

From what I understand, Humanism is the belief that human beings deserve dignity, respect, and freedom, and that human beings are capable of making ethical decisions because of our innate capacity for rational thought. It is neither religious, or anti-religious. You can believe and practice any religion, or none at all, and still be a Humanist. In my opinion, the healthiest and most beneficial religions have a core of Humanism.

Yes, absolutely, I am a Humanist!

Yes, I'm a humanist. I understand humanism to be caring about and respecting other people. It's like morality based on a feeling of brotherhood with everyone else. There is no need to be religious to be moral, but I also think it's possible to be religious and a humanist too.

What?? Who gave me a thumbs down for that? Somebody has a problem with caring about and respecting other people?

No I'm not-I'm a Christian. We do the same thing that humanists do-but we have God with us. It's our duty as Christians to tell others about Christ and the Gospel.

To be a fully up to the mark humanist, you have to REALLY understand, mankinds cruelty, blind hatred and intolerance of anything strange or different. You must also understand his blind headlong rush to self destruction, non of it logical or even reasonable. However, what is,will be the dye is cast and the horseman approaches.

Yes i do. Have have a good moral system that isn't based on faith and i believe that humans have a personal responsibility for their own life, mistakes and society.

If i go to a funeral, it is to celebrate life; a wedding is to celebrate two people finding love; the festive season is to celebrate family and friends. These are essentially religious ceremonies however i celebrate the messages and values behind them.

LOL..."It's crap," says "Praise Jesus."

Of course I'm a humanist. Tardis Girl, as usual, summed it up nicely. It's a rational, non-"religious" system of morality and ethics.

Man-orientated not God-orientated. Therefore God-less by definition. Sad.

What kind of -ism is that?

Every other religion of God is about humans, after all.

It's matter of understanding only.
