My uncle had heart surgery 2 years ago here in the states and they had to give him blood. He went back home and there they found something in his blood they didn't know what it was. So he came back here because they couldn't do anything there. Anyway here they say he has blood cancer could have got it from the blood they gave him during the heart surgery?

Cancer isn't contagious, but a single living cancer cell in blood can conceivably multiply and grow in someone who receives the blood. Its probably extremely rare that this might happen, but its possible. There isn't any practical way to screen blood for the presence of cancerous cells.

There are also several viruses that cannot be readily detected in blood, and which are suspected to indirectly cause a certain type of leukemia (similar to feline leukemia, which is highly contagious in cats).

it may have been possible like 50+ years ago, but probably not anymore, given the screening process you have to go through to even be elligible to give blood. Donated blood goes through so many tests to make sure it is safe, because blood transfusions was one way HIV was transmitted a while back

No, cancer can be hereditary but not contagious
They would always check the blood before giving it to him so even if it was contagious the blood he was giving would be safe
hope he gets better

It is a little known fact (as you can see) but there is belief that a form of leukemia can be caused by viral means and therefore transfusion.
