For me, it is as local as possible. I use whole foods as much as possible so I goto farmer's markets, local producers direct and my uncle's farm. Some things you cannot get around like spices, olive oil, etc. so i goto the bulk foods store for that. I do all this primarily for the superior quality but I am also doing my best to reduce my carbon footprint.

Kroger, but I buy the fresh meat at a small family operated grocery, known as Melton's. They have the freshest, and best cuts of meat.

I usually buy my food at Shaw's, Hannafords, Johnny's or Stop and Shop - the local grocery stores near my home in Boston.
