More surgery on L3 is now recommended. A major heart attack was experienced Mar. 11th, 2007. Cardiologists asks I wait until Mar., 2008. Any advise? Thanks. Pat

This is why they are leaving my prolapsed disc well alone. I assumed they would remove it and fuse, but they stated not any longer, because they know from experience fusion puts extra pressure on the other discs. Therefore they have me on Fentanyl Patch as the discs will dehydrate 10-15 years time as part of the normal aging process. However, if I have bowel or bladder problems, then it is a emergency, they have to go in and remove the disc, but no guarantee that I will regain the use of my legs or bowel and bladder. At the time I was stunned, but now with hindsight, accepted their decision and the Patch works wonders, keeps me mobile. Good Luck

talk to ur orthopedic doctor, he wil give u good advice.
