Someone once said to me...
Five years from now i will not know you
Who you were i will remember
who you become i cannot predict
Who you become is up to you
Follow your dreams, make things happy, create a path and lead the way...

I think the sentiments are worthy. That said, I think you need to edit/rewrite them a tad.

Frankly, I think the last sentence could be used by itself with a little editing:

"Follow your deams -- forge a path and lead the way."

Of course, it is very much like a line by a famous writer:

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” ~~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Although your not quoting it's a interesting piece of writing.

That isn't a quote...to quote is a verb...an action... you quoting someone else's text, words, etc...

If I copy what you wrote and put your name under it, I am Quoting you. What I am quoting is your words. They're still your words.

In either case... the text is nice and well written. I may quote you one day. :)
