I do not think you should tell your boss. If you are very concerned I would alert child protective services anonymously.

First off, there is no way that a child should be in bar. I'm surprised she's being served if she brings the kid into the bar.
Secondly, is she driving? If so, she is endangering not only herself, but the child.
Don't tell your boss, and risk causing yourself any problems or jeopardizing your job, just call the local social services and report in annonymously.

That really depends on your relationship with your boss. My boss is an open, warm, loving person who treats myself and my coworkers like her family. She gives us advice like a mother and hugs us if we are sad. She encourages us to talk to her and, in turn, tells us about some of her family issues. If I expressed sincere concern for her grandchild, she would thank me.
However, I have had bosses in the past who would see this type of thing as an intrusion on their privacy and even a negative statement towards themselves and their family.
If you can this in a way that doesn't appear to pass judgement on his duaghter, you may be in safe waters. Otherwise, I would make that anonymous phone call to Children and Family Services like so many others on here have suggested and let them handle it.
Either way, you must do something for that poor child.

Yes, depending on what kind of relationship you have with your boss. I could tell mine if her kids were misbehaving, but there have been some bosses I would never DREAM of telling, because they would get embarrassed and take it out on me -- a sort of "shoot the messenger" thing.

I think you should place an anonymous call to children's services and keep yourself out of the loop as far as your boss is concerned. If you know she's in the car drunk, you can report it to the police, here again, anonymously. People get really funny when you tell them about dumb stuff their children do and you don't want to get caught up in anything, but you also wouldn't want the child to remain in danger.

Well its not really your place to tell him about his daughter. He might take it offensively and you have to work there. If you have that kind of relationship with him where you can openely talk about those kinds of things that I would tell the wife before the boss.

Yes. If the boss doesn't believe you, call DHR or whatever it's called in your area. A bar is no place for a child.

I would tell him. Just say, "I saw Jane partying at the bar the other night, and she had little Timmy with her. He sure is growing up fast!"
