The Bible says, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14) This means that you should not be getting seriously involved with someone who does not share your religious viewpoint, or will not, at least, investigate it.

I knew that when I was getting serious about getting married, that I would never marry someone who did not believe as I did. That's a mistake my sister made; though she married a good and decent man, he never became a Christian, and now he is dead and wishes he'd become a Christian before he died.

I tried to tell my son that before he married someone who is a lovely person, but is not a Christian, but he didn't listen. Now he understands what I meant when I told him he would have problems with his spiritual "father-in-law".

If you are already together (married)...it says "seek not to be loosed". Before marriage it says, "be ye not unequally yoked with a non-believer" and "how can two walk together unless they be agreed".
What I believe this does is guards against future problems in the marriage. Once the "honeymoon" is over (the ooey-gooey stage) then reality will set in and arguments will result from conflicting beliefs.

Read the book of Job
His children were involved in a wicked party when they died, from the ungodly wife's influence.
When Job was suffering his wife told him to just curse God and die.
Christians have a shared experience of the love of Christ ,and Christs love for us, which acts as an amplifier with our marital love . You cannot have a loving relationship with a partner that only knows sexual experiences and lust as love.
Your children will follow away from Christ like Jobs.
a carnal relationship marriage is a 2 on the love scale from what you would have with a believer.
When the 2 become 1 , one is left out CHRIST.

The unequal yoking speaks of law vs grace.
One pushes vs one pulls, gets you nowhere.
You & Jeff may go fast fwd together in grace.
For ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

The apostle Paul commanded Christians: “do no longer improve into erratically yoked with unbelievers.” (2 Corinthians 6:14) what's the meaning of the word “do no longer improve into erratically yoked”? some Bible translations render those words “do no longer team up,” “do no longer attempt to artwork jointly as equals,” or “stop forming irrelevant relationships.” At what element does a relationship with yet another improve into irrelevant? while does it flow the line and improve into an uneven yoking? God’s be conscious, the Bible, can direct the doorstep in this occasion. evaluate the occasion of Jesus, who from introduction onward had a love for people. (Proverbs 8:31) on a similar time as in the international, he stable a specified bond along with his followers. He shaped no close ties with people who weren't in actual fact attracted to doing his Father’s will. On one social gathering, Jesus pronounced: “you're my pals in case you do what i'm commanding you.” (John 15:14) genuine, you will get alongside properly with a particular affiliate yet ask your self: ‘is this individual prepared to do what Jesus instructions? Does he or she choose to benefit approximately Jehovah God, the only whom Jesus recommended us to worship? Does he or she have a similar ethical standards that I as a Christian have?’ (Matthew 4:10) As you communicate with your affiliate and demand on making use of Bible standards, the solutions to those questions would be glaring.
