I presented with a RBC of 5.70, a hemoglobin of 15.7, and a hemacrotit of 46.4. What kinds of tests will the hematologist do? I'm worried about being anesthesiized for anything becaue I have a great fear of being put out.

Also, the blood tests done by the lab included a protein electropohoresis, and these were the results:
Total - 7.3
Albumin - 4.3
Alpha-1 - 0.3
Alpha-2 - 0.8
Beta - 0.9
Gamma - 1.1
A/G Ratio - 1.4

Do any of these values indicate cancer?

Agree with Jay above. I am a retired hematologist/oncologist - - most private practice specialists do both. Your primary care doc is probably just being careful. The Hgb/Hct are not dangerously high and may be normal for you. If I were the seeing someone like you, I would check a history and physical exam with a repeat CBC (complete blood count). There is no likelihood you will need to be put to sleep for anything. From what you describe, I doubt the hematologist will want to do a bone marrow exam - - unless there is something else you have not told us.

Added note - a high red blood cell count has nothing to do with blood pressure. MD Heme/Onc

No you don't have cancer then you would be seeing an Oncologist, not to mention the numbers don't support it.

You have high RBC so likely a high blood pressure, likely brought on by excess stress or anxiety.

So... relax a little ^_^

I'm a Med Tech in the lab and your protein electrophoresis looks good and very normal. I do these daily.

All of these values are normal. Is there something else going on that they would send you to another doctor? If you feel fine I don't see what the problem is
