Depends on what is your first language.... German for example is easier to learn for English speakers because it is so choppy. French, Spanish, and Italian are more fluid languages and easier to learn if you are fluent in one because of the similarities among them. Latin is also easy to learn because you don't have to speak it, only write and read it.
Regardless of all of the above, learning a language when you are young is alot easier than learining it even when you are in college. Your tounge can more easily form some of the sounds that aren't in your first language when you are younger because your tounge has not forgotten them. This is why people say that Mongolians can pick up on languages easily because they have almost every sound in their language already and therefore can use the sounds to form words.

They say Spanish is the easiest, but I agree with the person who said "Body Language". That deserves the 10 pts. there.
Defiantly the universal language of the world!!!!!

The easiest language is not the one everyone thinks. some people actually think it may be a certain language but ofcourse some are harder than others. my point is that no language can be hard if you really want to learn it you just have to WANT to learn it.
And chinese is really not that hard cause i am taking it and it is not that dificult.

Spanish or French would be easy to learn but I would choose spanish because you are exposed to it a little more than French. The two languages are somewhat similiar

The very fist one you ever learn is the easiest because you have been doing it for longer.

for Americans I would say Spanish, because we have a lot of similar words, but I recently read German is our sister language.
