Square is for the area. For instance a room is 10x10. Only works if both dimensions are the same

length is in feet (not square feet)
area is in square feet

if you are given area (sq feet)
and asked to find length, you have to know more about the geometry of the object
(is it a triangle, square, elipse, etc.)

Length x's width. A 5' x10' surface is 50 Sq. Ft.

take the overall sq. feet and divide by width
will give you length
