It totally depends on the person. I have a son and he is great but I have friends that are out visiting the world and doing things that they enjoy that would be difficult if they had kids. I think kids are great but you really have to know in your heart you want them and now days it seems you can have them whenever. You just have to know that when and if the times is right you will know. I also think it's good to spend a lot of time getting to know your partner before you have kids so you have a sturdy platform to fall back on if things get tough.

It depends on the person. My husband and I didn't care anything about having kids until we reached are mid-thirties and late-twenties respectively. Our first is due in March.
I know a couple in their late 40's who just adopted a 3 year old because they felt like they were missing something in their life. But I also know a 50 year old couple who have never had kids and are perfectly okay with that. They enjoy being godparents, but feel no need to have a child of their own.
So it really does depend. For some people it is the next stage, for others it's a stage they don't need.

Do you really think celebrities (capitalized or otherwise) would tell the world all their little problems about their kids? (heaven knows, Britney/Lindsay/Paris have done that for their parents!) ;) Besides, don't you think their nannies take care of the little ones, and, probably, the celebs couldn't even remember the kids' names and birthdays without having to think about it, first? So, please, don't go by what others, much less alleged stars, have to say on the matter (in other words, don't believe everything you here; otherwise, I gots dis bridge in Brooklyn dats for sales, if youz are interested!). ;)
Seriously, though, it would have helped if you indicated what you consider the "stages" of life to be, as we have no context by which to give you an adequate answer.

it is a growth process. but if you are not ready and don't want to give your whole life up to take care of an ungrateful unhelpful thing (baby) then don't do it. think about your parents and their relationship with you. Look from that perspective. What do they think? Ask them.
