You have to be either :
A US citizen, or a
Legal permanent resident ( green card holder )
To enlist in the US military.
The US military will not help you become a legal permanent resident and recieve a greencard.

Only U.S. citizens and resident aliens can join the Navy. At one time Filipinos could enlist directly from residency in the Philippines, but that program ended years ago.

Don't join the navy because they have the most ... guys because you go 6 months without seeing a girl if you are a guy if you are a girl go head and join. If you parent is in i don't mean they are ... i just say that on a internet site!!! :-)

I don't think you can join the military without one. Talk to a recruiter and they will help.

The military DOES take non-citizens but they first have to be: legally residing, legally permitted to work, have a social security number.
However, the jobs you can do will be limited.

Yes you can. The background checks are more intensive but worth it if you plan on trying to become a soldier.

If you are very qualified, they may help you get one, but I think you would have to return to your home country to apply, and the quotas for foreign nationals in the U.S. military are low.
