If you cut the end of your finger it will heal. If you cut OFF the end of your finger, no it will not regenerate itself. We are not lizards.

My uncle chopped his finger in a car fan, it healed but never grew back. Now he has one shorter finger!

No it won't! Even being a small child or infant... once it's gone it's gone! You will definitely end up with a stub. Be careful.
