Going to new york for christmas..what are the average temperatures for christmas time?

Cold reaches a point where it doesn't matter if its zero degrees or twenty.
Just count on cold. Hats, gloves, scarves warm jacket, dark colors.
I doubt if it will break freezing by then.

The temperature will go down to about 25 or so at night up to 45 or 50 during the day. Don't forget we walk all the time here so bring comfortable shoes!!! (I hate seeing tourists limping and complaining.) If you pass the Wall Street Bull think of the person who gave you this advice - I work just across from it.

Although NYC is at the Latitude as parts of France and Spain, the weather patterns here can bring in Canadian highs that are freezing.

So if someone on these boards tell you it is unpredictable, believe it, the weather here could be 50 F or below zero (with wind chill factors).
