When you have split ends, your hair is using all of its "energy" to fix the split ends instead of growing out. But when you get a trim, your hair has nothing to fix, so it can focus on growing.

Trimming your hair or cutting it does not make it grow faster. Your hair grows from your roots so to make your hair grow faster you'd have to eat healthy foods and use shampoo and conditioner that are good for your hair. Also, proper sleeping cycles and the reduction of stress will help your hair grow. Your hair is nothing but dead cells, so if it grows "fast" then it means you're supplying the roots which are under the skin with adequate nutrients. That is what makes your hair grow faster.

hair is made up of dead cells, like your nails. So there is no "fixing" being done by your hair to split ends.
Like you said, it just seems like your hair grew faster, but really it's just a perception.
Although there are cases when hair and nails do grow faster. Scientists who've lived inside biodomes, because of the pure and clean nature of their environment have experienced more rapid hair and nail growth.

that is a good question. I also heard that if you trim or cut your hair when there is a full moon, then it grows twice as fast. this is true

Maybe you have product build up weighing the hair's natural volume down. Or if your hair cutter massages shampoo in your scalp that could increase the circulation in your head making your hair grow faster.

Trimming hair doesnt extremely make the hair strengthen quicker except in case you have chop up ends. in case you have chop up ends bypass forward trim your hair in any different case the chop up ends will merely save splitting. in case you dont have any, then you certainly can bypass away it to strengthen.

I know what you mean - mine did the same thing.
But I think it doesn't really grow any faster, it's just that you can tell more because it's been cut.

It actually doesn't grow any faster; you simply notice it more.
