That Society and the Laws recognize you have the same rights of Man and Woman in Holy Matrimony?

Do you care that GOD does not bless your union? that no where in Scripture can you have a religious ceremony uniting a same sex couple in Holy Matrimony?

So is what you want is for Society to recognize a Holy Union because you know GOD does not?

If you do think that somehwere in scripture you could use a verse any verse for GOD to bless a Same Sex Union in Holy Matrimony
What scripture or verse would that be?

I think the world is going back to Sodom and Gomorrah. We have so many thing going like this ie: same sex marriages, teachers going with their students etc just utter craziness. It's hard to keep your mind free and clear due all this unholiness. I don't care what they do as long as they don't bring it too my house. Believe me and you homosexuals and all will have to answer for their sins and much as you and I. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's ok, I'm saying the Bible will tell it's story again and there is nothing new under the sun.

Have a good Holiday!!

Religion has no monopoly over marriage. Marriage has always been about inheritance and property rights. Read Same-Sex Unions in Premodern Europe by John Boswell for a very in-depth examination of the sacred text from which the Bible was derived.

Early Christian Gnostics had no problem with same-sex unions I believe it was the Catholic Church in the 13th Century that broke away from the Gnostics and added all these rules. Keep in mind that movable type wasn't invented until the 16th Century so Bibles were not accessible to the masses until many many many years after Christ's death. Even the Gospels were not written until 300 years after the death of the disciples.

Religion doesn't own exclusive rights to marriage.

People can get married by a justice of the peace in a civil ceremony. Many straight people do just that, so obviously THEY don't care whether your God blesses their marriage.

I got other news for ya. Most states don't recognize a marriage if it isn't filed with the proper state authority. So if you get married in the church and don't file notice of it with the state, it's no more valid in the state's eyes than a gay marriage.

Hard to imagine that you could be as ignorant as you sound, but ok, I'll assume you are. Let's address you primary question:

"Do you care that GOD does not bless your union?"
No, honey, they don't. Matrimony is matrimony regardless of who thinks it's 'holy'.

And what if there is no god? Or if they don't believe there is? Then I suppose the answer to your question is NO!

Myself, I am straight and I don't really care whether your god or anyone else is happy with whoever I choose to marry, or if I do at all. The only opinion I care about is mine and my the guy Im marrying.

They don't care about God or what He has to say. At least the God of the Bible, because He is very clear that homosexuality is an abomination to Him.

He is also very clear that marriage is an institution created by Him with Adam and Eve. A man and a woman. A male and a female.

That is God's way, and that has been civilization's definition of marriage for thousands of years.

This is America we are supposed to have equal rights.

This country was founded on escaping religious persecution. It is sad to see it continues till this day.

Maybe the just want tax benefits that are associated with marriage. Or the fact that they want their possessions to go to their loved one when they die.

Maybe the just want to be able to do what anybody else can legally do.

I always like to point out to people who use the Bible to discredit gay marraige, that the passages you are referring to are right near all those pesky ones about women being covered from head to toe and people being stoned to death, etc. etc.

Do you follow all those laws? Don't just pick one. I mean if you *really* want to be such a traditionalist you better grab your headdress and assume the missionary position.

I don't think it's a religious issue AT ALL for the homosexuals.

Atheists get married all the time and they don't need a religious service at all. Why don't christians complain about that?

I'll tell you why, it's becuase homosexual sex creeps you out and that's really the only reason christians vote agaisnt civil rights for gays all the time.

This is why non-christians don't like you so much, cause you're a bunch of creeps.

There is a difference between a state wedding and a church wedding. They just want to be able to be married by the state. And lot's of churches would marry them too. I doubt they are concerned by closed minded ideas of what God will or will not bless by someone they don't even know!
