The only acceptable time to give an ex a gift when you are dating someone else is if it is from children you share. How would you feel if the table was turned. As for the parents of your ex, what relationship do you have with them and why. You really need to ask yourself some hard questions and make sure the answer is worth the outcome.

I think if the person you're dating isn't exclusive or serious, nothing's wrong with that. Why would you continue to give your ex's parents gifts? I used to do that but only because we have a child and I would buy her something to give to her grandmother. Better question....how would you feel if the person you were dating did this? And be honest with yourself.

If your ex gives you a gift and you feel uncomfortable accepting it because you're seeing someone else, politely refuse. If your ex insists, accept the gift because it's a gift. You are free to give to your ex, or your ex's family as you choose, but only if you choose to, not because you are expected to.

i was with a guy for 5 years have'nt been with him for more than 2 years but i still give his family christmas gifts.. they are people i care about, so why not show it.. now my ex.. no way i dont give him gifts, then again if you guys are friends and didn't end in bad terms i would send him a gift.. nothing big, more like a happy holidays type of gift.. aslong as your boyfriend understands it's not like that anymore.. he should be able to trust you..

Its not wrong if you do that, but in most cases the other person who sees their bf/gf getting/giving gifts to their ex might bother them.
i would feel kind of weird if my girlfriend would give her ex a gift or if he gives her a gift. Its not wrong, but i would suggest not doing it to avoid any problems.

I don't think it's right. If he's your ex, you should cut the ties and just be with the guy your with now. Would you want your boyfriend you're with now giving his ex girlfriend and her family gifts?

if you are exclusive with this new person--then the gifts are wrong. The question you need to ask yourself is why are you holding onto to your ex?--clearly you two aren't over...
