Face it-dieting is NOT the answer to weight loss. It's not about what or how much you eat. It's about how much you exercise. Eat what you want and immediately when hunger strikes, if possible, but stop eating when you're full. Otherwise, by delaying eating, you'll end up overeating later. Also, get at least 30 minutes of exercise in your day, even if it's just a brisk walk. And let me tell you something important: DO NOT rely on South Beach or Atkins. They don't work. They are actually cleverly disguised calories that stimulate weight gain.

Whole wheat bread, turkey sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, lean meats like roast beef.
Watch the fruit, but have an orange or apple at least. Take a multivitamin each day.
Have a cup of raw veggies a day and have a cup w/dinner. Lean meat or fish for dinner the size of a deck of cards would be about right.
It might pay to spend a few bucks with a registered dietician to get a good plan for your personal needs. Ask your doc or insurance for a referral.

Hello, I'm on diet but I don't really eat veggies and fruits that much too. I just follow simple principles that will prevent me from becoming fatter - avoid/take in moderation some food and increase physical activities.
Watch out for these:
1. Anything Fried
2. Pasta
3. TransFats
4. Pastries
5. High fat Dairy
6. Sodas
7. White Bread
You might want to try these:
1.oats and other cereals with non-fat milk
2.eggs, forego the yolk
3. wheat bread
4. chicken breast
5. apples
6. walnuts
7. brisk walking everyday (atleast 30 min)

You need to keep a pretty high protein level in your foods to keep your muscle, so salads and fruits (only) aren't a good diet anyway.
Low fat, few processed foods, few sweets, lots of exercise, good protein sources at every meal and lots of TIME! is the healthy way to do it. Create a healthier LIFESTYLE and over time you'll lose excess fat.
You might check out the book, The YOU Diet.

then learn how to eat healthy, balanced meals within a caloric amount thats conducive to weight loss. for mean this is around 2200-2700 calories a day. play around with values in this range to make sure that you are getting enough energy for your job yet still are able to be losing weight. especially if your job consists of hard physical labor all day long. the book "eating for life" by bill phillips will teach you how to eat properly without cutting out entire food groups from your menu. it also has a whole section with delicious and easy recipes for any time of the day. best wishes:)
