I'm 20 and I just started to learn how to cook. I want to make a romantic dinner for me & my boyfriend. Do you have any recipes? nothing to simple like noodles but not too crazy complicated either.

Chicken Piccata looks fancy but is easy to make. Serve w/ linguine or spaghetti tossed in sauce.

CHICKEN PICCATA

2 skinless and boneless chicken breasts, butterflied and then cut in half
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 cups all purpose flour, for dredging
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup chicken stock
1/4 cup brined capers, rinsed
1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dredge chicken in flour and shake off excess.
In a large 10 or 12-inch skillet over medium high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 3 tablespoons olive oil. When butter and oil start to sizzle, add 2 pieces of chicken and cook for 3 minutes. When chicken is browned, flip and cook other side for 3 minutes. Remove and transfer to plate. Melt 2 more tablespoons butter and add another 2 tablespoons olive oil. When butter and oil start to sizzle, add the other 2 pieces of chicken and brown both sides in same manner. Remove pan from heat and add chicken to the plate.

Reduce heat to medium low and add the lemon juice, stock and capers. Return to stove and bring to boil, scraping up brown bits from the pan for extra flavor. Check for seasoning. Return all the chicken to the pan and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove chicken to platter. Add remaining 2 tablespoons butter to sauce and whisk vigorously. Pour sauce over chicken and garnish with parsley.

Rigatoni: Brown and drain 1/2 lb hamberger. Chop 2 yellow onions and put into a bowl. Add the hamberger. Add 1 cup Italian bread crumbs. Add any kind of Spagetti sauce . I prefer Ragu with mushrooms. Need 16 oz.

Boil curly noodles. I prefer them well cooked and not firm. Drain them well. Add to sauce mix.

When ready to eat use microwave to warm it on the plate. I serve it with mariated salad. Mushrooms, cucumbers ,olives, artichoke hearts. To do the salad buy mariated mushrooms and artichoke in oil. Peel and cube a cucumber. Mix all together and leave in refrig at least an hr before serving.

Add crusty italian bread . Warm in oven.

Serve with a red wine.

Use a mix for Cappuccino after dinner.

Buy some canolis or other Italian pastry to have for deseret.

Spaghetti is the easiest to make. But if want something easy that seems more impressive...
* boil ziti noodles until they're cooked
* mix the cooked noodles with spaghetti sauce
* pour the whole mixture into a baking dish
* add however much mozzarella and/or Parmesan cheese you'd like (usually just enough to cover the top)
* put it in a 350 degree oven until the cheese melts
Enjoy & good luck!

First of all, spaghetti is a type of pasta, not the name of a dish. You can put almost any sauce you like on spaghetti (the pasta), so to call a dish spaghetti is meaningless.

I vote for Sugar Pie's suggestion. Chicken piccata is very simple, and it's delicious. It can also be made with veal or turkey.

Serve the piccata with steamed vegetables or roasted new potatoes with rosemary. Either is very simple, too.

chicken parmegiani.

Broil two chicken breasts. Cover the broiled breasts with a batter. (Pre-made, just-add-water mixes are available in supermarkets.) Fry the breaded breasts just enough to make the outside a little toasted.

Heat the sauce. (this too is available pre-made in supermarkets.) Pour the sauce over the breaded breasts, top with fresh grated cheese, and you have a killer italian dish. You can serve Minestrone soup before (again, buy this pre-made and/or pre-mixed.) the main dish, and have salad and toasted garlic bread on the side.

Serve chocolate cake with strong coffee or espresso for desert. Oh, and don't forget the red wine.

Baked Ziti, this is one of my favorite Italian Dishes and its easy to make especially if you love cheese Comfort Food. If you cant find Ziti noodles you can use mosticiolli. You can serve Sweet Italian Sausage and Peppers, or you can enjoy just as is.

1 pound dried ziti or Mosticiolli pasta

3 1/2 cups marinara sauce I like to use tomato and herb
1 pound fresh mozzarella, 1/2 lb. cut into cubes and the other 1/2 thinly sliced or grated
1/4 cup ricotta cheese (optional)
3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan, divided
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, pinch red pepper

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
large pot of water to a boil, palm full of salt, and boil the pasta until al dente, do not overcook pasta needs to be a little firm. Drain.

combine cooked pasta with the marinara sauce, and cube mozzarella, (ricotta cheese optional) add 1/2 the Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and pepper flakes. put in lightly oiled casserole or baking dish. Cover the top of the pasta with the sliced or grated mozzarella, and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan. Bake for 20 -30 min or until lightly browned. ( you can combine 1/4 cup of italian bread crumbs with parm cheese for a nice topping)
