Like last year, the wacko politicians will be making more tax law changes during December. This creates headaches for the IRS, States, preparers and tax software companies. They are so late this year, that the IRS may not be able to accept efiled returns until later in January than normal. Thank your state rep and senator for their negligence.

Tax refunds for your 2007 return? It isn't even filed yet, and can't be until early 2008 - nobody is "holding" the refunds.

If you mean your 2006 refund, the tax return you filed in 2007, refunds were sent out a long time ago unless you filed very late. If you didn't get yours, call the IRS or go to irs.gov and click on "where's my refund" on the left of the page.

If you mean the forms for your 2007 return, 1) they aren't finalized yet, 2) they don't normally go out until around the last week of December, and 3) if you efiled last year, you probably won't get a paper package in the mail any more.

The tax return for 2007 hasn't processed yet. If you live in the US, your W4 will be sent to you no later than Feb 1, 2008. It is your responsibility to inform an employer if your address has changed.

tax returns are usually not mailed until late december - what does it matter? you can't legally file until Mid-Jan at the earliest and that may be delayed this year while they try and fix the alt min tax situation and companies are not required to mail their w-2's until the end of Jan
