I dont like the fat in heavy cream but a recipe i have calls for it.. someone suggested fat free canned milk... true?

this will still have the fat but here is a substitute I found for one cup heavy cream:

3/4 cup milk
1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted and cooled

and here is one I found from a resolved question on here:
a roux..

melt butter and flour together in a pot and then mix in milk and bring it to a boil.

The milk will become nice and thick like heavy cream but without the excess fat

cream cheese, perhaps even the neufchatel reduced fat cream cheese.

yes milk or whipping cream!!

canned evaporated milk (not sweetned condensed!)
half and half (only if it will not be boiled)
