Okay, one important thing to note is that I am a 16 year old male, heavy build but still not much fat. I also am home schooled, so this means that I can do my school at whatever time of the day I so please. In other words, unlike most people, I don't have to fit my eating habits with my work schedule, since I have no work schedule.

With that said, what are some good ideas for things to eat? I can go to a grocery store and look around and have no idea where to start. There's so many options, and so many combinations possible with different foods (Meat + bread = sandwich, etc.) so I'm just looking for some suggestions.

Again, preparation time is not an issue. I've been known to spend 3 hours cooking a nice meal for my family. Yes, I'm... I am the cook of the house.

I have lots of recipe books, so I have lots of ideas for dinner, it's more breakfast, lunch and snacks that I seem stuck on.

One last thing to note - I go to bed at around 1:00am and wake up at about 10:00.

Thanks.

I'm the cook of my house as well and enjoy doing it! i suggest for breakfast smoothies(strawberry yogurt, banana, and ice blended with orange juice) or how about a nice western omelet( 3 eggs, cheddar cheese, peppers, onion, ham and sum salsa on the side with some toast)
Lunch-chicken Cesar wrap(any wrap u like filled with chicken romaine and Cesar dressing) or BLT wrap(wrap of choice, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo) or steak quesadillas(sauteed peppers onions and steak with melted pepper jack cheese between 2 warm tortillas)
snack-homemade muffins(banana nut, blueberry, cranberry etc) or something more simple get sum crackers and put peanut butter and bananas on top
hope this helps x0x0

I use my grandmother's rule of thumb, a pretty plate is a well rounded meal. In other words a plate full of color is often the healthiest. For example you could make an Omlette for breakfast and add to it any number of veggies and serve it with a bowel of fresh fruit and a whole grain toast. As to snacks I would stick with fresh veggies cut into bite size and managable pieces and again fresh fruits adding a handful of a good trail mix and thats almost a complete meal in itself. Your guide to a good nutritional meal is this, you only need about 6oz. of protien, the rest of your plate should be 2/3 veggies and only a 1/3 of starch. The fresher the better and if your looking for breakfast and other recipies you can try going to www.foodnetwork.com, they have a wide variety of recipies that you can draw ideas from and you can print them too. Happy Eating!

This time of hear casaroles and home made soups are at the top of my list - with fresh baked bread. Of course pastas and stir frys are also some of my favorites because you can change them around by adding different things to them that you have an endless variety,.

lets see for breakfast i make egg sandwiches (egg, mayo, bread, cheese and i put ham and cream cheese on them) and then i mix orange juice and sprite for a drink.

then for lunch i usually fry some boneless chicken and make chicken sandwiches with ranch dressing tomato and lettuce

then for snacks i make either ritz crackers with marshmellow in the middle or ritz crackers with deli meats and cheeses.

its really good. all of them. i mean i know they sound kind of weird but try them. i promise you will like them.
