TG makes some very good points about the water situation and the amount of snow pack in the Rockies. The only thing he's forgetting about is urban sprawl. Urban sprawl can account for more water shortages than the climate can at this point in time. Urban sprawl meaning population increase. As the pop increases you have a higher demand for water and other natural resources. Now climate does effect the amount of snow fall in a given year, but you will see this varies from year to year. Also the way in which we practice water conservation has an effect. If your farmer or farmers are taking more water than should or needs to be used then this along with more people can effect water amounts.

It is causing more jobs to go to china. india and other countries. If this outflow of jobs continues we will not have the industrial base to convert to a CO2 free country.
and it won't mater as china will just make more CO2 building what we need to convert.
the cities are using to much water that is needed to grow food and biofuels.
we need food and biofuels not green lawns or swimming pools that are seldom used.

on the swimming pools a new helicopter pilot in LA Calif claims that on hot summer days less then 2 % of the swimming pools are being used.
in the winter less then !/50 of 1 %

it is time to tax water use in pools heavy to save water for farming

not much at least I don't think it is.

So there is a little drought in the southern states, big deal.
The ecosystem for that region wasn't meant to support so much development. Its no wonder - since americans like to waste their natural resources.

Otherwise, not much.

Oh, sure I'm an american myself. But I am aware that no matter how the issue is debated. There is nothing we can do to change our future - because the damage is already done.

Both the activists and the naysayers, are powerless all they can do is point fingers and bicker.
And by the way, praying won't help - because nature is in charge now.

cheers babe!!!

Water supplies are becoming threatened, especially in the west, southwest and the south. Their is growing competition between industry, agriculture, domestic use and the needs of wildlife. Snow packs are shrinking, threatening further water shortages in the future. In coastal areas, depletion of groundwater is causing subsidence and the intrusion of salt water which contaminates aquifers. Some crops are becoming difficult to grow, and the range of some crops is shifting north. Food supplies may eventually be endangered. There have been dramatic effects on wildlife, especially those at high altitudes or in isolated areas without the ability to move to areas that are cooler or have more water.
