It seems like the only way would be to rapidly limit the use of antibiotics.

I just want to point out how stupid some of the others that answered this question are. THEY DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THE ARTICLE AND SEE WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT!!!!

Basic hygene is really all that you need to practice. Wash your hands frequently, don't share your drinks and cups with anyone that you really don't know well, make sure that you wash your dishes well. MRSA is not something that is jumping off of one person onto another. If you have to go into the hospital for surgery or for anything else special precautions will be used there. If you are simply concerned then you can go to the websites I have included. These 2 websites may use language that is difficult to understand but they are very reliable. The first one is for the Mayo Clinic and the 2nd is for the center of disease control.

You are most likely to contract the SB from a hospital. Although it has been known to be transferred in locker rooms, tattoo parlors, and various other places where towels and clothing have been in contact with it. Wash your hands more frequently when you are out of your own environment and watch for any signs.

the best prevention there is......frequent and consistent hand washing. Next, maintain a clean environment. Lastly, careful treatment of all wounds. It really is common sense stuff.
