I've been so stressed out at work lately that I think it's making me sick. Can stress actually cause ULCERS though?

Yes, in fact stress is a major contributor to not just stomach ulcers but many different conditions, especially those in the digestive system. We now consider the digestive system to be like a "mini brain" because of all the body systems, the GI is the system that is most sensitive and reacts the most to stress, anxiety, depression, etc. Many GI conditions like ulcers, IBS, and inflammatory bowel disease, are aggravated by stress.

no, actually. ulcers are caused by a bacterium called H Pylori, what stress does is weaken your immune system. When your immune system is weakened the bacterium can grow without hindrance and you can develop ulcers.

Yes, that can actually happen. If you get stomach pains then go visit your doctor, just to be careful.
