I'm 17, 2 months until I'm 18....my mom will be in the car with me...Is it illegal to learn to drive without a learner's permit? And if i get caught what would be the fine?

You can not legally drive on public roads. And if you're caught with your mom in the car, she will likely lose her license.

However it is legal to drive on private property without a license, as long as you stay on private property. In the midwest, many people learn to drive by driving farm equipment on their private land.

Its illegal : your insurance may be invalid Dont take chances. Get your permit Take few lesonns better still a defenceive driving course.. Mothers can be the worst person for girl to practice with also boy friends and husbands I heard lots of horror stories in my 25 years as an instructor

yes it is illegal unless you have a track in your back yard the fine will differ from state to state
