The basic principles of weight loss are really very simple:
• More calories burned than eaten = weight loss
• Fewer calories eaten than burned = weight loss
The laws of physics (thermodynamics) dictate that there is only one way to lose weight: OVER TIME, YOU MUST BURN MORE CALORIES THAN YOU EAT. This is an inescapable Law of Nature.
TO BURN MORE CALORIES YOU MUST EXERCISE MORE. .
TO TAKE FEWER CALORIES ON BOARD YOU MUST EAT LESS.
Solely in terms of weight loss it’s not WHAT you eat, but HOW MANY CALORIES YOU EAT that counts. You can go on a chocolate cake diet and enjoy eating nothing but chocolate cake to the tune of 4,000 calories per day, but if you burn 4,500 calories per day you will unfailingly lose weight. (Obviously, in terms of your health, this would be a bad idea; it’s important to eat a balanced diet of healthy foods.)
There are no magic potions or silver bullets. Most “diets” aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on. Research shows that most people who “diet” to lose weight will sooner or later pile the weight right back on. Maintaining a healthy weight can’t be done by “dieting.” It requires permanent changes in lifestyle to include both a healthy diet and regular, strenuous exercise. You needn’t feel deprived. Eat whatever foods you want within the broad boundaries of a healthy diet – just don’t consume more calories than you burn – and get lots of the kinds of exercises that significantly raise your heart rate.
You will get lots of responses to your question. Evaluate them in light of the simple but irrefutable scientific principles laid out here. You’ll read advice from many people who haven’t got a clue about the science underlying weight control, but nevertheless profess to have sure-fire methods for weight loss. People will advise you to drink gallons of water, eat only grapefruit, undergo hypnosis, shun carbohydrates, drink pickle juice, take magical herbal medicines, buy peculiar exercise equipment, or try any number of other silly and exotic tricks. NONE OF THEIR METHODS EMPOWERS YOU TO VIOLATE THE LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS. Caveat emptor!
There is a great deal of information available on the web about exercise and nutrition. Be informed! Do a web-search on “nutrition” or “calories” or “weight loss” or “exercise” and explore. Ignore sites that are merely sales pitches for diets or putative magic bullets.
Lastly, slow and steady wins the race. The challenge of permanent weight control is always won by the tortoise, never the hare. The means is a combination of exercise and healthy eating. The prize is a lifetime of good physical and mental health.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

That sounds like a pretty realistic goal. You are giving yourself enough time. Try to aim for an 8 - 10 pound weight loss per month. Even though you dont have a gym, you can still work out... find at home workouts, jump rope, look up workouts online.
Ultimately this is what you need to do to lose weight:
First you need to cut back your calories - aim for 1200 to 1500 calories per day... DO NOT go below 1200 calories, your body will go into starvation mode and you wont lose any weight.
Then you need to develop an exercise routine that includes BOTH cardio and strength training. For cardio you should aim for at LEAST 30 mintues 3 times per week.
For Strength you should try 3 days per week also, and alternate between Upper body (arms), Lower body (legs) and core (abs/back) strength training. You can do all three each time you do strength training, or focus on ONE group each day.
But remember you should always have a day of rest in between strength training, and YES you can do strength training the same days you do cardio, in fact you should do strength first, and then your cardio so you get the maximum calorie burn from your workout!
Also, Sparkpeople(.com) is a great website with tons of resources and articles (you can find great at-home workouts here). And a community of people who are trying to lose weight just like you (i'm on there) and best of all its absolutely FREE! You should check it out! Weight loss depends on calories in and calories out.
Exercise will tone the muscles and create need for more calories...this is good...toned muscles in that bikini. The most you can safely lose is 2=3 pounds per week. More than that is simply water loss and it will come back.
· It is important to maintain a good diet so you don't compromise your health. Damage done because of lack of nutrition is not worth a nice body. Some diet damage cannot be fixed.
·
· When you deprive your brain,(your brain craves sugar) the brain will take other body cells to convert to the elements that it needs. And the cells it takes are BRAIN cells. OOPS. I don't want to lose brain cells to have thin legs. But I would like to have both.
DECIDE TO MAKE A LIFE CHANGE TO A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE.
1) fruits and veggies, all you want, organic, raw, vine-ripe if possible. Steamed is OK, sautéed is OK even canned or frozen is OK, but lots of them.
2) limited or no meat.
3) nothing fried
4) no FAST FOOD- is junk, no nutrition, empty calories
5) NO PROCESSED FOOD. if you can't pronounce it don't eat it.
6) nothing white, salt, sugar, mayo, milk, (or at least in moderation.
7) NO DAIRY-dairy is great for baby cows, your body does not even digest it properly. check out www.notmilk.com
8) EXERCISE- and be sure to refresh your body with water and fresh fruit
9) NO PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS. Muscle is made from water, replace the water. You get enough protein from the food you eat, You get more protein from spinach than the supplements you take and your body does not get toxic on food protein the way it will with supplements. Supplements can really tax you liver.
10) Good supplement would be Omega 3, and Juice Plus+

11) NO CARBONATED DRINKS, or at least limited. They actually dissolve the calcium in your bones.
12) Calories in calories out.
AND DON'T GO NUTS, MODERATION.
