Walking. Stairs in the long run will do murder on your knees.

Both exercises are great. And both are cardio, I think that the stairs will also build muscle more than walking would. If I were you, I would alternate, one day walking, one day stairs. Then you get the best of both worlds. Just remember when your walking, walk fast enough to get your heart rate up.

both are good....walk 3 days a week, and walk stairs 2 days a week.
